Compress HEIC photos

Make iPhone photos smaller and easy to share. Your HEIC photos are compressed and saved as JPG, which every app and website accepts.

Your images are processed on your device and never uploaded.

How to compress HEIC photos

  1. 1

Drop your HEIC or HEIF photos into the box above, or click to browse. You can add a whole batch at once.

  2. 2

Pick a quality preset, or choose Target size if a website asks for a maximum file size.

  3. 3

Download each photo, or download them all as a ZIP of JPG files.

Why compress HEIC photos?

iPhones save photos as HEIC to save space on the phone, but many websites, Windows apps and online forms still do not accept the format. Even when they do, full-resolution photos are often too large to upload or email.

This tool solves both problems at once: it opens HEIC photos directly in your browser and compresses them into JPG at the quality or file size you choose. You can also crop, rotate or resize before saving, and handle a whole album in one go.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the output JPG and not HEIC?

Web browsers can read HEIC but cannot create HEIC files. JPG is also accepted by practically every website, app and printer, so it is the most useful result. Choose WebP or PNG in the Convert tab if you prefer.

Will my iPhone photos be the right way up?

Yes. The rotation stored in the photo is applied, so portrait photos stay upright in the compressed file.

Is location data removed?

Yes. GPS location and other metadata are not copied into the compressed file, which is safer when you share photos online.

How much smaller will my photos be?

A typical 2–4 MB iPhone photo becomes about 400–900 KB at balanced quality. With a target size you can go much smaller, for example 200 KB for a form.
